Websites, SSL & business email
Build and publish customer websites, secure them with SSL, and set up email on their domain.
Overview
OPS Web sites are built in the Browser at opsweb.sa → Control panel → the site. A site is live when it's published and its domain's DNS points at OPS Web (198.18.10.80) — or at the customer's own server. HTTPS needs a valid OPS Trust CA certificate; email needs a mailbox and an MX record pointing at mx.opsweb.sa. While you're on the job you can edit the customer's sites and domains.
Jobs this covers
web_build, web_ssl, web_mail — certificate: Web developer (recommended)
The equipment — what everything does
Site builder
Pages made of blocks (header, text, images, features, price list, gallery, contact form, hours, links, quote, call to action).
In game: Browser → opsweb.sa → Control panel → the site → Pages.
Connect domain
Points the domain at the site and fixes the DNS for you.
In game: Site → Address → choose domain → Connect.
SSL certificate
Turns on the padlock (HTTPS).
In game: Site → Get SSL, or opsdomains.sa → the domain → Security certificate.
Mailboxes
info@domain etc., delivered into a phone's Mail app.
In game: opsweb.sa → Control panel → Email → + Mailbox.
Tools & PPE
Engineer laptop & console cable
Configures routers, NVRs and servers, runs speed tests and opens OPS Hub.
Standalone servers: tools are in your van (OPS Work → My van & tools). Items servers: collect them — and the job’s parts — at an OPS depot.
Step by step
Read the job description and the customer's brief.
In the Browser, go to opsweb.sa → Control panel. Your job's customer appears under the job reference.
Add at least four content blocks, set colours and contact details, and fill every page.
Connect the domain (it fixes the DNS) and switch the site Live.
For SSL jobs issue a certificate; for email jobs add a mailbox (the MX record is set for you).
Press Check on the job.
Health & safety
Customer data & privacy
Risk: Router settings, passwords and camera footage are private.
Control: Only change what the job needs. Never share Wi-Fi passwords or footage, and log out of customer systems when you finish.
Copyright & honesty
Risk: Using other people's images or making false claims gets the site taken down.
Control: Use the customer's own material and accurate details.
Screen time
Risk: Long sessions at a screen cause eye strain.
Control: Take regular short breaks.
In game you confirm these in a risk assessment before starting. Skipping them on risky work can cause a fall or a shock — and it’s logged as a safety incident.
When it’s not done correctly
Site saved but not published
The check fails: 'isn't published'.
Domain not pointing at the site
Visitors see a parked page or an error, and the check fails until DNS points at the site.
Fewer than four blocks
The build check counts content blocks.
Certificate requested before DNS points at the server
Validation fails — connect the domain first.
Mailbox created but MX pointing elsewhere
Mail bounces and the email check fails.
