Overview
What it does
OPS Systems is the IT company: it sets up workstations for businesses and gives on-site IT support to their staff.
On OPS Hub
OPS Hub → Companies & jobs → OPS Systems.
On the phone
Engineers take IT jobs in OPS Work; customers book support visits.
What players physically do
Everything below happens in the world, with your character, where other players can see it.
- Put laptops on desks and cable them to the network
- Get each workstation online and working
- Visit customers to solve IT problems on site
Every job
Every job OPS Systems does. Open one to see who it's for, what the customer pays, what the engineer earns, the certificate needed, the parts used and exactly how the server checks the work was really done. A job is only paid when its check passes.

IT support
IT installation & support
Set up workstations and look after a business's IT on site.
Overview
OPS Systems installs and supports the computers that businesses rely on. A workstation laptop only gets online through its Ethernet port, cabled to a router or switch with internet — there's no magic Wi-Fi. Support visits are timed on site: you fix what the staff need while you're there.
The equipment — and what it does
A placed laptop that players open to use OPS OS (the phone's apps on a desktop).
/towers → Buildings & sites → office & IT, or the job's kit list. Cable its Ethernet port to a switch/router.
The CAT6 run from the laptop to a router/switch with internet.
Pull CAT6 and terminate it into the laptop and the switch.
Tools & protective equipment
Configures routers, NVRs and servers, runs speed tests and opens OPS Hub.
Fits RJ45 plugs onto CAT6 and proves all eight cores are connected in the right order.
Labels both ends of every cable and port so the next engineer knows what is what.
Step by step
- Place the workstationPut the laptop on the desk where staff want it.
- Cable itRun CAT6 from the laptop to the switch or router and crimp both ends.
- Test itOpen the laptop — the Ethernet icon must show internet.
- Support visitFor support jobs press 'Start work' and stay on site while you help the staff.
- CompletePress Check / Complete on the job.
Health & safety — hazards and controls
Router settings, passwords and camera footage are private.
Only change what the job needs. Never share Wi-Fi passwords or footage, and log out of customer systems when you finish.
Customers and staff trip over loose cable during the job.
Route cable along walls, clip or trunk it, and never leave a run across a walkway.
Mains voltage can give a fatal shock and cause burns.
Never open powered kit. Isolate and prove dead with a voltage tester before touching terminals.
What goes wrong if it's done badly
It shows 'No internet' — every online app on it fails.
The on-site timer stops; the job isn't finished.
It isn't counted.
